Hi - I'm Heather! You may know me from the years I wrote for the Hill Rag and Fagon Guide, or from my advocacy for Capitol Hill public schools. You should also know me as your REALTOR!

I moved to Capitol Hill in 1996 from California, and quickly recognized that this is where I was meant to be. After a few years doing political fundraising, I moved on to the Dept. of Justice, where I felt like a caged bird as an editor and Congressional Liaison. I easily left that behind to raise my girls and dig deep into raising the bar for our public school, Maury Elementary. I had my eye on real estate -- as the school strengthened, so did surrounding home prices.

Maury has gone from being on the short list of schools to be closed to the school that people move 2 blocks to be in-boundary for. Now my sights are focused on Eliot-Hine Middle School, which is evolving to become the next public school success story. Watch what happens to the home prices surrounding it - they're rising already.

Selling your home is an emotional decision, which is why it's so important to choose the right real estate representative, one who's not just a sales person, but one who will take the time to learn your needs and will care about them. I will help you through every part of the transaction, and offer you complete services including relocation, mortgage services, title & settlement services, and the home warranty.

What I love about listing a home for sale is that I get to use my creative side to photograph and feature its best sides, to write about how the sun streams through its windows, and to talk about how it would feel to come home through its door each day. I also have a competitive side that loves to win. I grew up selling, helping my parents in their small business. I am a hard worker, and I take it personally. I am present for my clients. I anticipate their questions and concerns, and I try to make the process as easy as it can be. I am quick to respond.

This community is so important to me. Not only the quality of our schools, but the quality of life for everyone here. That's why I donate $500 of every one of my transactions (buying or selling) to the Capitol Hill Community Foundation. Rather than support just a few causes, by my giving to them, I'm giving to just about everyone. They support children, animals, trees, the poor, the elderly, and the arts. They are based in the heart of Capitol Hill, so it seemed like the best way possible to broadly give back to the community that I love. When you work with me, you make a difference!

Contact me any time for a no-obligation consultation to discuss specifically how I can help you with your current and future real estate needs. I can give you an idea of what your house might be worth, and some frank suggestions on what you can do to make it more desirable to buyers and command a higher price. Thanks for reading!    - Heather
